Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University Inaugurates Hindi Fortnight 2026

Amethi: Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University inaugurated Hindi Fortnight 2026 on September 11, with a call for greater use of Hindi in official work and daily communication. The inauguration ceremony was held at 4 pm and attended by university officials, teachers, employees and students.

C K Pandey, former Information Commissioner of the Uttar Pradesh State Information Commission, was the chief guest at the event. Addressing the gathering, Pandey described the initiative as an excellent way to make young people more aware of their language.

“Hindi should become a part of our daily work culture. We should make every effort to give it priority according to our capabilities,” he said, congratulating the university management and wishing success to the competitions planned during the fortnight.

University Vice-Chancellor Professor Bhrigu Nath Singh encouraged employees to increase the use of Hindi in their day-to-day official duties. He said Hindi binds India’s diverse cultures together and promotes unity.

The Vice-Chancellor also urged students to respect and use their respective regional languages alongside Hindi.

Registrar Professor S L Harikumar was also present at the programme. The ceremony concluded with the felicitation of the chief guest. The event was conducted by Dr Shwetanshu Shekhar, Hindi Officer of the university.

Online Hindi Workshop Organised

As part of the celebrations, the university also organised an online Hindi workshop. Gopal, Manager (Official Language) at the Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar, participated as the guest speaker.

He delivered an informative lecture on various aspects of the Official Language Policy and its effective implementation. University officers and employees attended the workshop online.

Competitions Planned Throughout September

Hindi Fortnight is being observed at the university from September 1 to September 30, 2026. Several competitions for students and employees are scheduled during the period, including Hindi essay writing, technical terminology debates, poetry recitation and quizzes.

The initiative aims to encourage the use of Hindi in official communication while promoting appreciation of India’s linguistic diversity.
